Traveling Baseball Registration

Registration Deadline: Traveling Baseball Registration will close on August 31, 2024. Late registrations will not be accepted unless there is room at your child’s age level.

Tryouts: Traveling Baseball Tryouts are mandatory to participate on a traveling team. Tryouts will take place the weekend of September 7th. In case of inclement weather, the make-up weekend is September 14th.

Tryout Times: TBD

Location: Mahtomedi Quad Fields

Fees: The registration fee for Mahtomedi Youth Traveling Baseball is $600.00 per player (plus processing fees).  This price includes a $50 tryout fee that is non-refundable. This fee does not include uniforms, which will be purchased separately for the 2025 season.

Please Note:

  • 9U-14U Players - For those who are placed on a traveling team, no refunds are given after teams are posted.
  • 15U Players - For those placed on a traveling team, no refunds are given after December 1st. If your player does not intend to play for the 15U season, you must tell us by that date so we are able to plan for the season.

Eligibility: A player MUST either live in or attend public school within the Mahtomedi School District for the 2024-2025 school year in order to be eligible to register and participate with Mahtomedi Youth Baseball. Proof of enrollment may be requested prior to tryouts.

2024 Exception: Players who attend private school within the Mahtomedi School District boundaries AND participated in Mahtomedi Traveling Baseball in 2024 are grandfathered in and are eligible to register and participate with Mahtomedi Youth Baseball for the 2025 season. Out of district eligibility is forfeited if a player changes schools or takes a break from participating with MYB.

  • 9U Eligibility: Player birthday must fall between: May 1, 2015 - August 31, 2016
  • 10U-15U Eligibility: Players in their respective age groups must not reach the next age before May 1, 2024. It is permissible for a player to play up from their designated age division, but they may not play down. For example, a 10 year old may play in the 11 year old division, but a 12 year old may NOT play in the 11 year old division.

Uniforms: Uniforms are NOT INCLUDED in the 2025 registration fee. Uniforms will be ordered directly from our supplier in January 2025. If you have a traveling baseball uniform from 2024, and it still fits your player, you will have the option to re-use that uniform for the 2025 season.

Teams: There are many decisions that factor into how many teams MYB rosters at each age level. The primary factors include the number of players trying out at each level, the number of fields that can accommodate each age range, the overall talent level of the players trying out and the levels offered by the organizing travel leagues (Gopher State/MBL).

Players will be rostered on teams that can be placed at any of the following levels of travel baseball:

AAA (highest), AA (intermediate), A (lower). For ages 12-15, it is possible we may offer spots on a team in Gopher State Rec Baseball League. In 2025, Rec teams will be considered "travel" teams and pay the same as travel players and receive the same uniforms.

Dibs Volunteer ProgramMYB requires each travel baseball family to participate in our Dibs Volunteer Program. A buyout donation is available for families who do not wish to participate in volunteer hours. If you opt IN to the Dibs Volunteer Program - you agree to volunteer 4 hours per traveling player, before 9/1/25. There is a max of 12 hours per family if multiple players from one family are playing travel baseball. Registration for Dibs will come in September after teams are selected. Uniforms will not be distributed until you are registered for Dibs.
