Registration Deadline: In House Baseball Registration closed on March 7, 2025. If you want to inquire as to whether there is room at any level, please contact the appropriate Level Director:
Evaluations: We will hold In House Baseball evaluations and uniform try-ons for players in grades 2 - 9. They will take place on Saturday, March 22nd at the gyms inside Mahtomedi Middle School. All players are strongly encouraged to attend evaluations, with the goal of helping us create evenly skilled teams.
Evaluation Times:
Eligibility: A player MUST either live in or attend public school within the Mahtomedi School District in order to be eligible to register and participate with Mahtomedi Youth Baseball.
Players should register for the grade they are currently in for the 2024-25 school year. MYB does not permit players to "play up" with another level higher than their grade.
Season Start Dates: Our season start date is scheduled for the week of May 5. This is a tentative date depending on field conditions and weather. Once we are able to play, MYB will contact you via SportsEngine. Practice and game schedules will be loaded into the SportsEngine app as soon as they are confirmed, most likely in mid-April. If we are able to start practices the week of April 28, we will try to do so.
Season Date/Time Information:
Required Equipment: Please have your player bring a baseball helmet, glove, bat, and water bottle to every event. If your player is in need of a glove or bat, please email Phil Morris at phmorris716@gmail.com, as we have a supply we are happy to loan for the season.
Players in 2nd-9th grade should wear a protective cup to all practices and games. Plastic (molded) cleats are recommended, but not required. No metal cleats allowed.
New This Season! Dibs:
For the 2025 season, we are asking all In House Mahtomedi Youth Baseball families of players who are in 2nd grade or older to volunteer for 2 hours per player.
Youth Baseball is a nonprofit organization that is run completely by volunteers. It is supported through registration fees, donations, sponsorships, and through revenue generated at its baseball tournaments. We cannot run a successful and cost-efficient program without volunteer support from our members and community. We need your help!
There are two options:
1) Opt In to the Dibs Volunteer Program - You agree to volunteer 2 hours per 2nd - 9th grade in house player, before 9/1/25. There is a max of 4 hours per family.
2) Opt Out of the Dibs Volunteer Program - You have the option to pay a $150 (plus processing fees) donation, per 2nd - 9th grade player, today, in lieu of volunteering this season. This donation will be used to hire people for volunteer positions that go unfilled.
*Also New This Season! Rookie Ball:
For our Kindergarten/1st grade Coach Pitch league, players must be currently enrolled in Kindergarten or 1st grade to participate. Proof of enrollment may be requested. In previous seasons we have seen more and more kids that are not yet in Kindergarten enroll, which limits the opportunity to participate for eligible K/1 players. If a player is interested in baseball, but not yet enrolled in Kindergarten or 1st grade, we would encourage you to register for T-Ball through Mahtomedi Community Education for the spring season. T-Ball will conclude by July 4th and then...come play in our new league...ROOKIE BALL!
Mahtomedi Youth Baseball will now offer Rookie Ball, a 5 week season, which will run Monday & Wednesday nights, from July 7 - August 6. Rookie Ball will be open to players who will be entering Kindergarten,1st or 2nd grade in the fall 2025 school year. Rookie Ball will run opposite nights (M & W) from Sandlot (T & Th). Players entering 2nd grade can choose between playing in Sandlot with hardballs, or in Rookie Ball with the soft-core baseballs we use, depending on their skill level.
MYB hopes that Rookie Ball will provide a chance for younger players to try out T-ball or soccer, or other sports in the spring, and still get to try baseball during the summer. If there are kids in our K/1 Coach Pitch program who just can't get enough baseball and want to play during our 8 week spring season, then also play in our 5 week Rookie Ball season, they are welcome to do so! Registration for Rookie Ball will open in June.

Please Note:

2024 Exception: Players who attend private school within the Mahtomedi School District boundaries AND participated in Mahtomedi Traveling Baseball in 2024 are grandfathered in and are eligible to register and participate with Mahtomedi Youth Baseball for the 2025 season.
