We are asking all families respect a 24 hour “cooling off” period and are asking all families to abide by the following:
No emails, texts, phone calls, or in-person comments to MYB Board Members regarding teams or roster choices for 24 hours
Once 24 hours have passed, please direct any questions regarding tryouts or rosters to Board President, Phil Morris, via email. He can be reached at phmorris716@gmail.com.
MYB is unable to share the following details regarding tryouts:
Player’s specific scores
Player’s specific stack rankings
Number of players at each level
Via an email request, MYB can provide the following information about your player’s tryout
Player approximate ranking (top third, middle third, bottom third) for each category: hitting, pitching, infielding, outfielding, running.
This is provided to help guide any extra work your player may want to focus on during the next year.
If evaluators left any comments or observations during the tryout regarding your player, those can be shared
At most levels, MYB strives to roster two travel teams. This is dictated by: field space, the MYAS Gopher State levels available, the number of players trying out and the overall talent level of the age group. The number of teams is a decision made by the MYB Board of Directors. The only exception to this is at the 12/13U level, at which MYB is able to place a third team at the Gopher State Rec Baseball League level.
Please remember that players go through many changes over the course of a year. Each year we see players move up, move down, join our community or stop playing baseball. Each move has an impact throughout an age level.
If a team’s coach has yet to be determined, please know MYB is actively working on filling the position.
Please do not confront MYB Board members regarding team selections in-person, or your player’s eligibility to participate in the upcoming season and future years may be forfeited.
This includes not confronting a board member at a football game, Homecoming Parade, community event, Trick-or-Treating, a hockey game, or at the grocery store (for example). MYB Board members are volunteers. If you wish to discuss the tryout process, or team selection, please send an email to MYB President to begin the conversation in a respectful manner.
For families whose player was selected for a travel team:
Please remember to budget for uniforms. Uniform sizing and ordering will take place in January. Please budget $175 for a new uniform. MYB will have new uniform designs for the 2026 season and ALL players (new and returning) will need to purchase new uniform items.
Instructions regarding Dibs for the 2026 season will be sent at a later date.
Teams and coaches will be rostered in SportsEngine within the next few weeks.
Weekly winter warm ups will begin in March. Some travel teams may begin sooner depending on the team, but additional indoor training is paid out of pocket by families.
For families whose player did not make a travel team:
MYB would like to acknowledge how hard this may be for your player and your family. Please know that we take roster decisions seriously and a great deal of time goes into providing an equitable evaluation process. Our process strives to give each player a chance to show what they can do in an equitable setting.
Every player that did not make a travel team will be invited to participate in our 2026 In-House leagues. In-House registration will open in January. Players need to register separately for In-House if they wish to play.
Players that did not make a travel team will have their initial deposit refunded over the next week, minus the $50 tryout fee.
